About Us

At Eastwood, 2007Every great love comes with a great story.

Well, let’s just say ours is not the stuff of epics, but filled with our own romantic, cosmic details that we’d rather keep to ourselves =b

In a Nutshell

How we met

We met at PowerBooks, Megamall on July 17, 2004 – just a day after being set up in an on-the-spot date by and with our common friends, Abet and Jac. Cat was the petite, chatty, charming, uber cheerful nurse, and J was the tall, mild-mannered, serious, food-loving graphic designer. Some food, drinks, and a movie after, Cat thought that was just about it, and it was great meeting J on her first blind date. Or so she thought. J had other plans.

Hundreds of text messages, phone conversations, visits to UST (where she works) and Mandaluyong (where she lives), and trips to tens of fastfoods, restos, and places in and out of town (tens of sunsets included) Cat and J realized just how tuned they are to each other like walkie-talkies, but also not realizing they already spent a small fortune on text messages.

How we got engaged: The Proposal

On their 3rd year together, J took Cat on a surprise trip to Caleruega, Batangas. Shortly after arriving , J asked Cat, all giddy to go around, to fetch his jacket back at the car. After being puzzled why he would still need the jacket since he was already wearing a long-sleeve pinstripe shirt, Cat was silenced discovering a bouquet of two dozen pink tulips hidden at the backseat althroughout the hour-long trip.

And as if she thought those were the end of the surprises that day, J – again, had other plans.

While viewing the scenics alone at a quiet nook, he gave Cat a little box, an anniversary gift wrapped in pink shiny wrapper. Her face lit up and she opened it, popping out a pint-sized, bow-tied teddy bear. Cat soon realized that this was no keychain teddy bear when J feverishly got it from her, and went down on one knee and popped it open to reveal The Ring…while asking the big Q.

J can’t remember just how many times she nodded after her long nerve-racking silence, while just staring speechless at the diamond ring.

So two months after our engagement, amidst all the excitement of her possible employment to the US and plans of migration, we decided to finally pick the big date – where the bigger chapter of our love story starts anew.

First Date (by ourselves)
